Mount Chelia
Mount Chelia is the second name on the list of the highest mountains in Algeria that Toplist would like to introduce to you. Mount Chelia, located in Bouhmama county, west of Khenchela in the Bouhmama region, is the highest peak in the Aures mountain ranges. At the foot of Djebel Chélia, the Abiod Valley begins.
Mount Chelia has a prominence of 1,612 feet and is located at an elevation of 7,638 feet (2,328 m) above sea level. It is the highest peak in the Aurès Mountains, which straddle the Algerian-Tunisian border, and Algeria's second highest peak, after Mount Tahat. Forest fires were common in Mount Chelia's forests before 1850. The adoption of laws governing land and forest use in Algeria resulted in a significant reduction in the number of forest fires. Because it is a difficult mountain to climb, tourism is not very prevalent in the area.
