Mount Nimba

The Mount Nimba Strict Nature Reserve is characterized by a line of mountains that climax at 1,752 m altitude at Mount Nimba, a true water tower between Côte d'Ivoire and Guinea. The property is incorporated into the public domain of both Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire, with a total area of 17,540 hectares, with 12,540 ha in Guinea and 5,000 ha in Côte d'Ivoire.
The Micropotamogale of Mount Nimba (Micropotamogale lamottei), the viviparous toad of Mount Nimba (Nimbaphrynoides occidentalis), and chimpanzees who utilize stones as tools are among the unique and diverse species found in this reserve, which spans not only West Africa but the whole African continent.
