My Love from Another Star
My Love from the Star is a South Korean fantasy romantic comedy television series directed by Jang Tae-yoo and written by Park Ji-eun. Jun Ji-hyun, Kim Soo-hyun, Park Hae-jin, Yoo In-na, Shin Sung-rok, and Ahn Jae-hyun star in the film, which is produced by Choi Moon-suk and Moon Bo-mi. It tells the story of an extraterrestrial alien who lands on Earth in 1609 during the Joseon Dynasty and falls in love with a top female actor 400 years later. From December 18, 2013, to February 27, 2014, the series aired for 21 episodes on the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS).
According to Nielsen Korea, it had a 24 percent average nationwide television viewership rating. During its broadcast, it gained widespread popularity and sparked trends in fashion, make-up, and restaurants. It has also been credited with spreading the Korean wave. Several awards were bestowed upon My Love from the Star. It received nine nominations and three wins at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards. The Korean Drama Award for Best Drama, the Seoul International Drama Award for Excellent Korean Drama, and the Magnolia Award for Best Foreign Television Series were all given to the series.
