Hwang Jung-eum in the role of Weol-ju, The proprietor of Mystic Pop-up Bar is a fiery woman. Weol-ju cured the Crown Prince through his dreams 500 years ago but was unjustly accused of courting him and was targeted by an assassin who instead killed Weol-ju's mother. Weol-sin ju was committing suicide on the Sacred Tree, which caused it to lose its authority over a 100,000-person war. As a punishment for her previous wrongdoing, she has been exiled to the Living Realm for the last 500 years to settle the grievances of 100,000 souls and console them.

Mystic Pop-up Bar is about a mysterious pojangmacha (outdoor drinking establishment) run by an ill-tempered woman named Weol-ju (Hwang Jung-eum), an innocent part-time employee named Han Kang-bae (Yook Sung-jae), and a former afterlife detective named Chief Gwi (Choi Won-young) who visits customers in their dreams to help them solve their problems. Kang-bae possesses a rare power that is beneficial to Weol-ju: with a touch, he can get individuals to spill out all of their problems.
