She Was Pretty (2015)

She Was Pretty is a 2015 South Korean television series starring Hwang Jung-eum, Park Seo-joon, Go Joon-hee and Choi Si-won. A love comedy based on a true tale about two former acquaintances who re-connect after a reversal of fortunes and appearances, set in the publishing office of a fashion magazine. Kim Hye-jin (Hwang Jung-eum) was a lovely girl from a wealthy family known as the "Cha's". She suffered struggles and eventually lost her attractiveness after her family's publishing firm went bankrupt. Ji Sung-joon (Park Seo-joon), an ugly youngster with poor self-esteem, grows up to become a handsome and successful editor.

Sung-joon was unable to identify Hye-jin when the two met again as adults. Hye-jin, embarrassed to see her first love and spoil his impression of her, convinces her gorgeous best friend, Ha-ri (Go Joon-hee), to come in her place. However, things quickly become problematic when Hye-jin is assigned to work at The Most magazine publishing office, where Sung-joon is the deputy chief editor. He openly mistreats and mocks her for her clumsiness, unaware that she was his true childhood buddy. Ha-ri continues to meet with Sung-joon and develops affection for him. Hye-jin, on the other hand, makes a wonderful friend at her workplace, Shin-hyuk (Choi Si-won), who gradually falls in love with her.
