National History Park - Citadel, Sans Souci, Ramiers
The Republic of Haiti owns the National Historic Park - Citadelle, Sans-Souci, Ramiers. The site is protected by the Law on the Protection of Monuments and Sites of 1941. By presidential order in 1978, the National Historic Park that preserves the monumental zone of the Citadelle, the Palace Sans-Souci, and the Ramiers Site was established. ISPAN, Haiti's specialized agency founded in 1979, is in charge of its administration.
Since 2013, the National Historic Park has been overseen by an Interministerial Management Council comprised of members from the six ministries and presided over by the Prime Minister of the Republic. The Directorate General of ISPAN, the State focal point, is in charge of the Council's permanent secretariat.
ISPAN developed a temporary management structure in early 2014, with the primary purpose of preparing the Administration Plan for the NHP-CSSR and the eventual structure for its management. Long-term expected outcomes include the implementation of the Management Plan, the development of the NHP-CSSR in accordance with the participatory and coordinated plan, the stabilization and protection of historic monuments from water infiltration, and the development of cultural and tourism activities.
