Negril
Negril is a tiny but widely spread beach resort town in Jamaica that spans sections of two parishes, Westmoreland and Hanover. Negril is roughly a one-hour and fifteen-minute journey from Montego Bay's Sir Donald Sangster International Airport through the coastal route. Westmoreland is Jamaica's westernmost parish, located on the island's south coast. Westmoreland includes downtown Negril, the West End cliff resorts to the south of downtown, and the southern half of the so-called "seven-mile beach". Hanover Parish is home to the beach's northernmost resorts. Savanna-la-Mar, the capital of Westmoreland Parish, is the closest big town.
Set your eyes on Negril for a postcard-perfect Jamaican coastline. The setting for some of the island's most opulent resorts includes dramatic cliffs, gorgeous turquoise ocean, and immaculate white-sand beaches. You'll find swaying palm palms and shallow, sparkling water at the famous Seven Mile Beach. Long Bay Beach Park, an uncrowded beach ideal for picnic lunches, and Bloody Bay, which provides vivid coral reefs for snorkeling, are located in Negril. Stop by Rick's Café for a renowned Negril sunset and some stunning cliff jumping before you go.
