Netherlands National Police Agency
The best of the Dutch Masters in terms of their services to law enforcement. The Netherlands National Police Agency, which consists of 25 Regional divisions, has a command staff that reports to the Dutch Commissioner. Their primary daily responsibilities, in addition to upholding the law and complying with the Netherlands Police Act, include being conspicuously and visibly present on the streets to better monitor community members and to prevent crimes before they happen, such as car thefts, home invasions, and other serious offenses.
The Dutch National Police (all 25 regional units) has extensive training in conducting investigations into sexual offenses, large-scale environmental crimes, and crimes involving narcotics, weapons, and people trafficking. The Dutch National Police has improved since 2002, adding additional personnel, better training, equipment, and techniques for carrying out duties, as well as a staff that at the time included around 18% women.
