Operation Chromite (2016)
Operation Chromite is a 2016 South Korean war drama film directed by John H. Lee and based on the real-life events of the Battle of Inchon, although it presents a fictionalized version of the historical CIA/US military intelligence operation "Trudy Jackson", conducted before the actual landing operation. It was released on 27 July 2016 in South Korea.
In order to get access to the North Korean army command center in Incheon, South Korean Navy Special Forces, Captain Jang Hak Soo (Lee Jung-jae), and 7 KLO (Korean Liasion Office) personnel masquerade themselves as a North Korean inspection team. Gen. MacArthur gave them the following instructions for their mission: 1. Recon enemy forces in Incheon and secure the mine chart; 2. Kidnap "Ryu Jang Choon", the second-ranking officer in the North Korean command center, to obtain information on the location of the naval mine; and 3. On D-Day, light the Palmido lighthouse as a signal to the main UN forces. General MacArthur won't start the attack to retake Incheon until the lighthouse is turned on. Jang and the KLO team charge the lighthouse with everything they have.
