OutThere Magazine
Uwern Jong and Martin Perry launched OutThere magazine, a luxury travel magazine and independent media brand, in 2010. OutThere's content is available on a variety of media, including its quarterly printed magazine, website, and social networks. OutThere is a quarterly magazine produced in the United Kingdom by Out There Publishing that offers luxury travel reviews, news, features, and fashion. OutThere is also an online version. Its theme is "diversity, exploration, and discernment". The journal is regarded as an "important resource for LGBTQ+ travelers" and a "material role in the progress of LGBTQ rights" as a publisher. The Gordon Institute of Management Science described it as a "leading luxury and experience travel magazine for homosexual men".
The magazine also hosts the Experientialist Awards and the LGBT+ Travel Symposium, a series of events aimed at educating travel firms on how to embrace diversity and be more friendly to LGBTQ+ consumers. The series began in 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand, with the Tourist Administration of Thailand's support (the publishers also operate the government's Go Thai Be Free LGBTQ+ outreach), and it was the first event of its sort in Southeast Asia. The event is also held in Stockholm, Sweden. OutThere is a member of the International LGBTQ Travel Association and a media partner. Uwern Jong, the magazine's Editor-in-Chief, is on the board of the organization, which bills itself as the "world's foremost travel trade association for LGBTQ+ tourism".
