One of Brazil's largest manmade lakes, Lake Paranoá, was initially constructed in the 1960s to serve the city of Brasilia (then known as Planalto), the country's federal capital. The Tucum River, which drains into the center portion of the Paranoá Lake, feeds the lake, which is situated in the eastern region of the state of Goiás. The lake's highest depth is 32 meters, and its surface area is 11 square kilometers. It has a waterway that leads to the Paranaba River.
People who enjoy walking through protected area trails in search of tropical plants and wildlife can visit Paranoá Lake. It is a location where a fisherman can capture a lot of fish. Additionally, Paranoá Lake is situated on a sizable property that spans nearly 1,000 hectares.
