Parc De Bercy
The Parc De Bercy, which is built on the site of historic wine warehouses, still has remnants of its former life, including a vineyard and an old railroad line. The Parc de Bercy, in the center of the 12th arrondissement, between the Gare de Lyon and the Cour Saint-Émilion neighborhood, is a great area to stroll any time of year. Visitors will experience a very different France in the fall, especially, then they would in other months. The entire park appears to be donning a brand-new hue. The golden color of the maple leaves in the autumn alternates with the red oak leaves, providing a distinctive element of the autumn panorama. There are unique seasons of change everywhere.
The largest concert venue in Paris, Bercy Arena, is located on one side. The "jardin romantique" with its tiny lake and island, home to ducks and lilies, is located at the opposite end. And in between, movie buffs visit the French Cinematheque (designed by American architect Franck Gehry). With the Maison du Lac (exhibitions on the gardens, conferences, etc.), the Maison du Jardinage (advice for new gardeners, gardening classes, etc.), the Chai de Bercy (wine store), and the Orangerie, the Parc de Bercy is home to a significant amount of biodiversity. Families enjoy walking, playing football, and rollerblading in the park, which is also a great spot for Parisians to decompress.
