Parc Montsouris
One of Paris's major green parks is the Parc Montsouris. It is situated in the 14th arrondissement, between the student housing complex known as Cité Universitaire de Paris and rue d'Alésia. A park is a popular place for students to walk because it is close to the Cité Universitaire. The Parc Montsouris, built during the reign of Napoleon III and completed in 1969, features a lake, lovely statues, unusual trees (such as the Chinese parasol tree, Diospyros kaki, or Japanese persimmon tree), the Pavillon Montsouris restaurant, and is also a haven for numerous bird species.
The Montsouris meteorological observatory and the "mire du Sud", a marker for the position of the Paris meridian, are also accessible to visitors. On European Heritage Days each year, the Montsouris reservoir, which stores a portion of the drinking water used by Parisians, is made accessible to the public. From May to September, there are numerous free performances at the bandstand. The peaceful weather of autumn is ideal for individuals who enjoy romantic parks and stunning scenery. There is nothing more lovely than strolling along the park's two parallel rows of maple trees while it is dry and cold in Paris in the autumn.
