Port Elizabeth
Port Elizabeth is a settlement on the Caribbean island of Bequia, which is part of the Grenadines. It is the parish capital of the Grenadines.
The Grenadines are a group of 30 islands located off the coast of St. Vincent. The closest is Bequia, which is only 14 kilometers (nine miles) from Kingstown and takes an hour to reach by ferry. Port Elizabeth, the island's capital, is located on Admiralty Bay, one of the Caribbean's most attractive harbors. Therefore, this port is one of the most beautiful historical sites in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. With its modest homes, chickens roaming the streets, and a few low-key beachfront taverns and eateries, the small hamlet harkens back to a gentler time in the Caribbean. It's a lovely little town. The Belmont walkway runs along the edge of the port, with beautiful tiny restaurants on one side and a harbor full of gorgeous yachts on the other. You can follow it all the way up and around the cliff to Princess Margaret Beach for some spectacular views.
Enjoy the vibrant colors of Port Elizabeth's environment, which includes turquoise water, boats of all sizes and colors, and waterfront pubs and restaurants. The shore is surrounded by lush green tree-filled hills, where you may sit and watch ferries arrive and go for neighboring islands. Stroll through town, picking up some fresh vegetables or carved wooden handicrafts from the local market, and then travel to one of the many golden sand beaches to enjoy the Caribbean Sea's clear, tranquil waves.
