Practice Gratitude
Giving yourself a few minutes to smile and practice gratitude before you get out of bed may be a good idea. Dopamine, endorphins, and serotonin are feel-good neurotransmitters that are released when you smile and that improve your mood, relax your body, and slow down your pulse rate.
Start thinking about your blessings when you smile. According to studies, among other benefits, practicing gratitude lowers stress hormones and increases happiness. So adding a simple daily gratitude practice is a great way to start your day. Before getting out of bed, spend one minute thinking about one person or one opportunity you are grateful for.
