Additionally, cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity may be avoided with the use of Ganoderma.

Reishi raised immune response and enhanced antioxidant capacity in individuals with advanced cancer in modest clinical investigations. In a single investigation, a few examples of the usage of reishi mushrooms in the remission of hepatocellular carcinoma were described. On white blood cells, however, Ganoderma extracts show harmful effects. The safety of Ganoderma in the treatment of cancer must thus be determined by more research.
