Prysmian Group
Prysmian S.p.A. is an Italian firm based in Milan that specializes in the production of electrical cable for use in the energy and telecommunications sectors, as well as optical fibers. It is the world leader in the manufacture of wind farm cables.
Goldman Sachs established Prysmian S.r.l. in 2005 after acquiring Pirelli & C. S.p.Cables A's and Systems division. The corporation opted to sell down its stake in the cable market after reorganizing the organization of the group's internal activities.
The firm is the global market leader in cable systems. Prysmian, in particular, manufactures and installs underground and submarine cables for electricity transmission and distribution, as well as specialized cables for usage in various industrial contexts and medium- and low-voltage cables for construction and infrastructure. The Group manufactures copper cables, optical cables, and optical fiber cables for the transfer of data, video, and sound in the telecommunications industry.
