When PURA first opened its doors in 1908, it was still a letterpress printing establishment. The third generation then began a continuous push to transform the company into the renowned Pura Group, a contemporary corporation as we know it today, in 1970. PURA has been committed to generating unique, innovative products as import substitutes for the domestic market and export commodities for the global market. After more than four decades, PURA has grown into a large industrial conglomerate with 30 integrated manufacturing divisions spread across 100 hectares, employing 13,000 people and exporting to more than 90 countries.

They are a privately held corporation in Indonesia with the most patents. Many of PURA's innovations have been protected by more than 190 patents, with more on the way.
