Rakshasa Street
Chinese animated television program Rakshasa Street is based on the webcomic of the same name created by Xu Chen. It is one of the best cultivation (xianxia) donghua of all time. The donghua tells the tale of Xia Ling, a young man who is stuck in a parallel universe called Rakshasa Street where humans live side by side with demons and magical beings.
In Rakshasa Street, Xia Ling transforms into a "Guardian," defending the living world from evil spirits and beings. He faces off against formidable foes, solves the riddles of Rakshasa Street, and searches for a path home with the help of his pals. The protagonist of the tale is Xia Ling, a young guy who unintentionally travels to Rakshasa Street. He learns that he has a special skill that allows him to see and communicate with these paranormal entities.
Xia Ling joins the Guardians—a group of people who defend the human world from dangers that emanate from Rakshasa Street—in her quest to find a path home. As Xia Ling explores Rakshasa Street more, he comes across formidable foes and establishes relationships with other Guardians. Together, they overcome a variety of obstacles, take on powerful foes, and learn the secrets of the parallel universe they have entered.
The Donghua features a compelling plot with dramatic conflicts and supernatural encounters by fusing supernatural, action, and urban fantasy elements. The world of Rakshasa Street is vividly portrayed, with a wide variety of mystical happenings and strange beings.
