Reykjavik, Iceland

When considering destinations to visit in Europe, Reykjavik might not be the first place that comes to mind, but it should be. While many visitors to Iceland book flights in the hopes of seeing the Northern Lights, some decide to visit in the summer when the sun is always shining. Because of its geographic location, Reykjavik has no darkness from mid-April to mid-August.

This season has some of the most beautiful hiking paths and overlooks if you don't mind using blackout curtains so you can get some rest. Imagine this: fields of vibrant greens and flowers, blue skies against the healing waters of the Blue Lagoon, and almost ideal 60 to 70-degree temperatures. The largest city in the nation and the capital is Reykjavik, which is also home to Mother Nature. You can find charming shops, quiet restaurants, and the breathtaking Hallgrimskirkja concrete church here. The majority of visitors also love taking a ride in the Perlan dome, which rotates to offer views of the city, the ocean, and the surrounding area.
