Rich in Vitamin D
To maintain and develop strong bones, your body requires calcium, and vitamin D helps in this process. Fatty mushrooms may be the answer if you want to get your vitamin D through food rather than tablets or sunlight, as many people do. They are the sole source of vitamin D in fruits and vegetables.
Similar to how people can, certain mushrooms may create extra vitamin D when exposed to sunlight or UV rays. Fatty mushrooms create the most vitamin D after being exposed to sunlight or UV radiation. Slice one portabella or three fatty mushrooms to the daily serving size set them out in the sun for at least 15 minutes, and then consume. By consuming no more than one cup of fatty mushrooms, you can achieve the same result without being exposed to the sun.
