Rosé
Rosé, is a Korean-New Zealand singer and dancer based in South Korea. Rosé was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia. She trained for four years before making her debut with the girl group BLACKPINK in August 2016.
Rosé released her debut solo album, R, in March 2021. The album's first week sales of 448,089 copies set a record for a Korean female soloist. The album's lead single, "On the Ground" was also a commercial success; it peaked in the top five in the United States and top the Billboard Global 200. Since she made her debut with Blackpink, Rosé's voice has been praised for its distinctive vocal timbre. Artist Gummy, who Rosé cited as an inspiration in music, praised Rosé's voice for being "so unique" and said that it was "the [kind of] voice young people love" after Rosé's performance on Fantastic Duo 2.
