  1. One of the most well-known South Korean female artists now is Kim Taeyeon, better known by her stage name Taeyeon. The soulful vocalist has performed professionally for more than half of her life, making her one of K-most pop's most recognized voices both as a member of a legendary girl group and as a well-known solo artist.


    Taeyeon trained at SM Entertainment's Starlight Academy while she was in middle school and before making her K-pop debut with the band Girl's Generation.
