Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital
The Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital (RBWH) is the largest hospital in Queensland and is located in the heart of the city. It provides a full variety of therapeutic services. Every year, about 6,000 interdisciplinary staff members work at RBWH, providing life-saving care to over 500,000 people.
RBWH is known for providing excellent care in a wide range of clinical areas, including cancer, maternity, trauma, and burns treatment. The community service provided by RBWH is enormous. It contains about 1,000 beds and serves more than a tenth of all Queensland patients, as well as patients from Northern New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Thousands of patients can interact with the hospital's doctors via state-of-the-art instant video connections, offering professional treatment to rural and regional patients and decreasing the need for them to travel long distances away from home.
RBWH has proud collaborations with more than 14 Queensland and national institutions, three TAFE providers, and strong linkages to the Australian Defence Force and is firmly established as a world-leading healthcare, research, and innovation hub.
RBWH is a Choosing Wisely partner that is leading the way in creating improved discussions across the country about the proper use of medical tests, treatments, and procedures, resulting in stronger and more integrated patient care.
With more than 150 years of caring for Queenslanders, the modern-day RBWH supports and conducts world-leading research and teaching and is a prominent innovator in the pursuit of ever-improving patient outcomes.
