The Prince Charles Hospital
The Prince Charles Hospital is Australia's foremost cardiothoracic hospital, with a reputation for providing high-quality care. They employ over 3200 employees who provide specialized care to over 420,000 clients each year.
It is the focus for specialized services, including heart and lung transplants, adult cystic fibrosis, adult congenital heart disease, and complex cardiac care for Queensland and northern New South Wales. The Indigenous Cardiac and Respiratory Outreach programs in Queensland are also housed here.
To complement our strong cardio-thoracic focus, they added general medical and general surgical capabilities, as well as a general adult emergency medicine service, following a significant hospital update in 2007.
Numerous national and international research trials and projects are conducted at the Prince Charles Hospital. Leading clinical and translational research programs, particularly in the disciplines of cardiac thoracic medicine and surgery, critical care, and orthopedics, are based at the hospital. They are committed to education and innovation, and they work closely with The University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, and The Australian Catholic University.
