Saint Martin
The French collectivity of Saint-Martin and the Dutch territory of Sint Maarten share the island of Saint Martin (formerly part of the Netherlands Antilles, but now a constituent state of the Kingdom of the Netherlands). Since then, the harmonious coexistence of the two communities has allowed this thirty-seven-square-mile island to become the Caribbean's one-of-a-kind vacation and shopping destination.
Saint Martin has become a haven for duty-free and tax-free shopping in the West Indies thanks to her status as a free trade zone. Luxury things, apparel, gadgets, jewelry, liquors, and china can be found in Philipsburg on Front Street, where the big cruise ships dock, and in Marigot, on the French side.
Saint Martin, on the other hand, is arguably most known for the grace and variety of her food. Traditional French cuisine, which takes advantage of the availability of seafood, as well as Creole, Chinese, and Indian cuisine, are all available. On the beach, there are trendy restaurants, bistros, brasseries, and "lolos".
Address: Saint Martin, northeast Caribbean Sea.
