Japanese beer brewing company Sapporo Breweries Ltd. was established in 1876. The oldest beer brand in Japan is Sapporo. Brewer Seibei Nakagawa produced the first batch of it in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan, in 1876. Sapporo Breweries' global headquarters are located in Ebisu, Shibuya, Tokyo. In 2006, the business acquired Sleeman Brewery in Canada.
In addition to the Sleeman brewery in Canada and the Sapporo Brewing Company in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the corporation operates five breweries in Japan. Sapporo Draft (premium in North America), Yebisu, and Sleeman Cream Ale are the three primary brands. When Sapporo U.S.A., Inc. was initially established in 1984, Sapporo Premium has consistently ranked as the top-selling Asian beer in the country. The Mitsui keiretsu is made up of Sapporo Brewery.
