Seaside Lagoon
An area with salt water is called the Seaside Lagoon, and it is one of the best swimming pools for kids in L.A. Water for the beach lagoon travels to the nearby steam generating facility where it is used to cool the turbines from the other side of the breakwater, where it is roughly 50 feet deep. The water is then transported in enormous pipes beneath the street to the Seaside Lagoon, where it is chlorinated upon entry and dechlorinated upon exiting the lagoon and returning to the harbor. The Seaside Lagoon has a flow rate of about 200,000 gallons per hour and holds about 1.5 million gallons of water.
This one's not your normal swimming pool. A saltwater lagoon called Seaside Lagoon can be found just yards from the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can swim while being watched over by lifeguards; additional amenities include water slides, a playground, beach volleyball courts, and picnic spaces. If you want to call it that, the water park is only accessible during the summer, which this year runs from May 27 to September 4.
