Sierra Nevada College
Sierra Nevada College provides a private, nonprofit, liberal arts education to 600 undergraduates and 500 postgraduates. Established in 1969, SNC has become one of Nevada's top accredited online colleges. It offers two online bachelor's degrees (in psychology and global business management) and two graduate degrees in education, specializing in administration or English language acquisition and development.
Online courses at SNC are delivered in six-week modules, allowing students to focus on one or two classes at a time while maintaining full-time status. The online undergraduate programs welcome both first-time freshmen and transfer students. Transfer students can request a credit evaluation by submitting their transcripts without an official application.
Online students at SNC benefit from a reduced flat-rate tuition cost per credit and a flat fee each semester. The application process is ongoing throughout the year, and applicants typically receive an acceptance decision within two weeks. First-year admission criteria include a minimum 2.6 GPA and SAT scores above 400 or ACT scores above 19. Graduate school applicants need a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75-3.0, depending on the program, and passing scores on the Praxis Core or CBEST.
SNC's graduate programs offer flexible start dates in January, March, May, August, and October, catering to the needs of working students. Aspiring undergraduates are not charged an application fee, while graduate students face a $50 application fee.
