During a match, guts first came across Silat, a highly proficient and quick Kushan fighter. He is the clan chief of Bakiraka's son. To bring down "the falcon of oracle" and win the clan's restoration, he worked for Emperor Ganishka. He was shielded throughout his scouting missions by a tapasa squad. Silat asserted that his clan only used their physique and skills to survive and seize a piece of land where they could dwell peacefully.

In his initial appearance, Silat appears incredibly haughty and looks down on fighters from Midland because he believes they are undertrained compared to him. He maintains this mentality until he is twice defeated by Guts, which causes him to change. Years later, he orders his warriors not to follow Guts because Guts had just murdered five Kushan scouts in a single stroke. Silat aspires to restore the pride and honor that previously belonged to his clan.

Due to Silat's exotic appearance, acrobatics, and almost theatrical inclination to yell out his assaults, Guts has likened him to a circus performance. He prefers to use katars, chakrams, and urami as weapons. Despite Guts' ridicule, Silat is one of the most powerful human warriors in Midland and Kushan. He killed a few trained Band of the Falcon members and defeated numerous trained knights in the tournament. The only situation when Silat's talent fell short was when Guts' immense strength was present. No wonder he is one of the best Indian anime characters.
