Yemma

There are uncanny similarities between Indian anime characters and Hindu deities. In Hindu mythology, Yamraj, the deity of death and justice, decides the afterlife of souls, deciding whether they go to heaven or hell based on their actions during life. Yemma, a character resembling this one, appears in Dragon Ball Z. All ogres who judge the dead are ruled by King Yemma. He chooses whether a soul travels to Heaven or Hell, and a line of souls is waiting outside his office.

King Yemma is powerful enough to maintain control in any circumstance and has little trouble defeating Raditz. This loses some impact as the villains might grow later in the series. King Yemma is incredibly impatient and quickly irritated by the tiniest things, but if necessary, he will listen to people's worries. He also had a decent disposition, as evidenced by how he treated Goku kindly and tolerated his lack of etiquette. Additionally, he carried out Goku's request that Kid Buu be reincarnated as a decent person, which resulted in Kid Buu becoming Uub.

Yemma doesn't like it when people hold up the line at the Check-In Station by shouting at Kami to move along because he did so while lost in thought. He has even jokingly threatened to send the good-hearted Guardian to Hell to scare him after overhearing Kami tell Goku that King Kai is stronger than him, demonstrating that he is not above using his position to intimidate others. Despite his outward appearance, he is actually very bright, as evidenced by the fact that he found Vegeta's body and sent Dabura to paradise rather than hell.
