Sorrento

Sorrento is an upscale restaurant located in New Delhi's Shangri La Eros hotel. The upscale restaurant serves inventive Italian fare with an Indian twist. Sorrento maintains her position as one of the city's finest Italian fine-dining establishments, thanks to a new simple but bold and flavorful menu created by the chef, as well as a great presentation. The cutely decorated 60-seater dining area provides a clear view of the open kitchens where chefs showcase their art while preparing flavor-packed meals.

The restaurant is a large, well-lit cheery space with the usual accouterments of an Italian eatery: open kitchens for both pizza and mains, an island that is a salumeria (deli) of sorts, and fridges where you can choose your cheese and cured meats by the weight, which the chef then slices razor-thin on an impressive scarlet Berkel machine. The vibe is interactive, friendly and rustic.

The menu is extensive. It’s one that will make you want to come back to try things since you won’t be able to have it all in a single sitting. The traditional rustic Tuscan pasta is a must-have if you like to get it. The agnolotti sat in a fine brown jus of both types of meats.
