South African Breweries
SAB (South African Breweries) was established in 1895. It is a subsidiary of AB Inbev, the world's largest brewer with over 400 brands and brewing operations in over 100 countries, and has been the main beverage firm in South Africa for over a century. Johannesburg is the headquarters of this important brewing and bottling industry. It was founded to cater to a rising market of miners and prospectors in the Johannesburg area.
SAB is South Africa's largest brewer and one of the country's most well-known corporations. In South Africa, the company operates 7 breweries and 42 depots with a brewing capacity of 3.1 billion litres per year. Its beer portfolio caters to a diverse variety of consumers and includes legacy brands such as Castle Lager, Hansa Pilsener, and Carling Black Label.
With more than 200 brands and brewing holdings, as well as distribution agreements in 75 countries across six continents, it is one of the world's largest brewers by volume.
