Sunset beach

Sunset Beach is near Mihama American Village, a shopping and entertainment center about 40 minutes north of Naha. The high-rise Beach Tower Okinawa hotel is visible in the background of this artificial beach. The huge ferris wheel that hovers over the American Village is perhaps the most recognizable feature.

The beach has a variety of amenities, and the water is shallow with lifeguards on duty, making it an ideal family beach. In fact, both locals and American service families from the nearby air base use it. As the name suggests, the west facing Sunset Beach is a great place to watch the sun setting over the East China Sea.
