Taipei Adventist Preparatory Academy (TAPA)
Taipei Adventist Preparatory Academy (TAPA), a school that started small but grew into something truly extraordinary. Back in 2002, Robert Christensen got the ball rolling by founding the Adventist College Preparatory Center (ACPC). At its inception, ACPC focused on supporting high school students in English and guiding students who wished to study at English-speaking universities. During that inaugural year, 30 students received English language support, while six students received guidance on the complexities of college planning.
As time passes, more and more students join the TAPA family. By 2005, significant changes had taken place. ACPC grew beyond English tutoring, becoming a comprehensive American high school. It offers regular classes along with some advanced classes. In keeping with its expanding vision, ACPC changed its name in the fall of 2005, becoming Taipei Seventh-day Adventist Preparatory Academy, known as TAPA.
TAPA's growth does not stop there. In 2012, the academy boasted a student population in excess of 150 individuals from over 20 different countries. This remarkable diversity demonstrates TAPA's commitment to creating a global community of learners.
One of TAPA's outstanding features is its compliance with the American education system designed specifically for private schools. This school has received accreditation from a prestigious organization called Cognia. The transition from ACPC to TAPA means not just a school but a paradise where students around the world unite to learn, share and grow.
