Tarawa
Tarawa is the capital of the Republic of Kiribati and one of the most intriguing destinations in Kiribati. It consists of a series of interconnected islands in the shape of a boomerang. The islands are normally linked by bridges, although you may need to use a boat to get to a few of them. If you wish to live among the locals and learn about the culture of the island, the southern areas of Tarawa are the place to be. However, if you prefer to spend your holiday away from people, the northern portions of Tarawa are the best option. On the Bikenibeu, there are several historically significant Kiribati centers that represent Kiribati's culture and history. The other parts of Tarawa show the remains of the world war II battles. You can also experience sailing in the lagoons and do reef fishing on the island.
