Ternium
Ternium, one of the largest manufacturing companies in Luxembourg, is a steel manufacturing company with a strong presence in Latin America. With production centers in seven countries, Ternium is a leading steel producer in the region, with a total annual production capacity of 12.4 million tons. The company's integrated processes allow it to manufacture both flat and long steel products, as well as value-added products. Ternium's strategic acquisition of Grupo IMSA in 2007 expanded its operations into Guatemala and the United States.
Ternium's name is derived from the Latin words "Ter" meaning three and "Eternium" meaning eternal, in reference to the integration of the three steel mills. The company was formed in 2005 through the consolidation of three companies: Siderar of Argentina, Sidor of Venezuela, and Hylsa of Mexico. Siderar was established by Techint in 1992 following the privatization of Somisa.
The company's commitment to environmental protection is reflected in its investments in new technologies and constant improvements in its production system to minimize the impact of its operations and maximize efficiency in the use of resources. As a member of the World Steel Association, Ternium adheres to the most advanced industry standards. The company recognizes that steel is a 100% recyclable material that can be endlessly reused, making it part of the solution toward a sustainable future.
