Terumo Corporation was created in 1921 in Tokyo, Japan, with the goal of producing clinical thermometers and other critical medical instruments that the country could no longer import after World War I. In 2021, the firm will produce a wide range of medical items, ranging from stents and catheters under its cardiovascular divisions to blood collection and infusion systems, patient monitoring, and hypodermics under its other divisions. Terumo's annual sales were $5.8 billion in 2020, and the company presently employs over 26,400 people worldwide.
