Teuila Festival

Samoa's main event is the Teuila Festival. During the Teuila Festival in September, a variety of unique cultural events are held, including cuisine demonstrations, traditional dance performances, canoe racing, and more. The festival usually lasts several days and is most common in Apia, Samoa's capital city.

The Siva Afi, in which male performers spin a giant knife with burning flames around their necks, around their legs, and over their bodies to the beat of a wooden drum, is one of the most stunning dance shows you'll see.

Throughout the week, male and female artists compete in group dance competitions, offering dance groups from all over the islands the opportunity to show off their greatest skills while having a great time. Traditional cultural dances with plenty of slapping, stomping, and clapping to more contemporary dance styles will be on display.
