Along with other prominent people including Christina Aguilera, Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell, Justin Timberlake, and JC Chasez, Spears was a well-known cast member of the Disney Channel's "The All-New Mickey Mouse Club." However, she was first turned down for the show due to her youth.

Eight-year-old Britney Spears traveled to Atlanta with her mother Lynne to attend an audition for the 1990 revival of The Mickey Mouse Club. Because she was simply too young at the time, the casting director turned her down. The casting directors advised her to keep honing her acting, singing, and dancing skills. She obtained a talent agency on the advice of the producers who were impressed by her audition.

She was introduced to a talent agency in New York instead of going to an audition, and the agent advised that she enroll in the program. Britney was hired for the starring part after being accepted into the Professional Performing Arts School.
