The beautiful landscapes of Algeria
As Toplist has mentioned above, Algeria is the largest country on the African continent, with a diverse landscape and plenty to offer visitors. Although the journey from Europe is only a short one, the contrast between the two continents is immediately apparent, providing tourists with a sense of adventure and intrigue. Algeria has many charming cities with winding streets and stunning architecture, as well as a Mediterranean coast, lush landscapes, and world-class Roman ruins. The country's main attraction, however, is the Saharan region, where the never-ending sand and mysterious and lively cities are enough to pique the interest of even the most seasoned traveler. It can be said that ancient dynasties and empires with a rich traditional history serve as major tourist attractions in the country.
In addition, Algeria has seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including six cultural sites and one mixed site. These are Al Qal’a of Beni Hammad (1980), Djémila (1982), Kasbah of Algiers (1992), M’Zab Valley (1982), Timgad (1982), Tipasa (1982) and Tassili n’Ajjer (1982).
