The Bluff
The Cayman Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean Sea, are home to the highest point on the island of The Bluff. It is located near the eastern extremity of Cayman Brac and has a maximum elevation of 43 meters (141 ft).
As one of the most beautiful caves on the Cayman Islands, The Bluff, the Cayman Islands' highest peak, is located at the extreme eastern extremity of Cayman Brac, the second biggest of the three Cayman Islands. The steep rock cliffs rise 141 feet above sea level. This is in sharp contrast to Cayman's predominantly flat topography. The Bluff is notable not just for its unusual (at least for Cayman) height, but also for its biodiversity. BirdLife International has recognized more than 1,000 acres of dry woodland here as an Important Bird Area (IBA). Among the vivid bird species that call male The Bluff home are Cuban amazon parrots, thick-billed vireos, vitelline warblers, Caribbean Elaenia, and white-crowned pigeons. The Bluff is, without a doubt, Cayman's most unique natural marvel. Without a doubt, this is how Cayman Brac got its name.
