The British School of Brasilia
The British School of Brasilia is a member of The British Schools Foundation (BSF), a non-profit organization registered in the United Kingdom and a leading worldwide school group. BSF has developed over a dozen top international schools around the world since 2004.
The curriculum is unique and has been designed and improved over nearly two decades, building on the British School Foundation's experience and skill in creating successful schools worldwide.
British School of Brasilia's curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum. The Integrated Curriculum lays an emphasis on developing students' personal traits, completely preparing them for the rigors of the formal tests that they will take from Year 10 onwards.
One of the guiding principles is that every student can and will succeed at school. It has an unwavering approach to ensuring that all students reach the highest levels of achievement in the core curriculum disciplines of English, Math, Portuguese, and Science.
The curriculum is designed to help students improve their English and Portuguese skills, achieving a high level of competency and confidence in both languages. A dynamic house structure, a rigorous outward limits program, pupil voice, and school service programs provide numerous chances for students to display these character traits while taking more responsibility for defining their school experience.
In addition to a demanding and challenging academic program, BSB offers lively Sports, Music, and Arts programs in which students can participate, cooperate, perform, and flourish. All classrooms are richly resourced and equipped to fulfill the English National Curriculum standards, including interactive whiteboards (standard in all classrooms), MacBooks, iPads, and air conditioners.
BSB has two huge, unusually well-equipped playgrounds that include a variety of toys, climbing frames, a garden with genuine soil, seeds, plants, fruits, and vegetables for gardening instruction, and multi-purpose surfaces. The BSB library is huge and well-stocked, with a diverse English and Portuguese literature collection. The library is supplemented with pleasant reading rooms to inspire a love of books and reading.
