The Duggar Family

The Duggar family is, no doubt, one of the most famous celebrity families. Jim and Michelle Duggar have had 20 children (including 19 biological and 1 adoptive) and 24 grandkids. They have been the focus of two television series, called "19 Kids and Counting" - a show that ran on TLC from 2008 to 2015 - and Counting On, which started running on TLC in 2014, as well as a number of television specials that began airing in 2006.

Jim Bob and Michelle brought up their children according to the tenets of Bill Gothard's College in Basic Life Principles; nevertheless, several of their married offspring have begun to stray from these tenets with their own families.

When their youngest child, Josh, turned five, the Duggar family decided to homeschool their children. In subsequent interviews, the pair explained that they made this choice because they believed it was "the most effective approach to teach Christian principles."

As their older children got old enough to help them in big family decisions, Michelle started sharing the burden of homeschooling education with them in order to make sure younger children would always have assistance. Over the years, the Duggar family have used a number of homeschool curriculums; still, the Advanced Training Center has been a constant in their education.
