The Garden International School
The Garden International School, or GIS, is an international school in China that has been around since 2014. It's considered one of the top IB schools in Guangzhou. The school focuses on creating a caring and creative environment that helps students develop good character, skills, and understanding. GIS strongly supports the International Baccalaureate (IBO) PYP Learner Profiles.
The program combines the best of both Chinese and international educational practices. This provides a well-rounded education for students. Every day, kids get the chance to learn and explore in English and Chinese, guided by experienced and caring staff committed to each student's success. Along with core academic subjects, GIS offers physical education and art classes, allowing children to explore and excel in various areas.
The campus has various facilities like an auditorium, library, multimedia rooms, art rooms, music rooms, and an indoor gym. Outdoor spaces include a running track, all-weather pitches, and two playgrounds in a green area at Haiyi Peninsula. The Boarding House provides many students with a homey and caring environment.
GIS is authorized by the Ministry of Education in China and offers three different educational streams, each incorporating an increasing level of bilingualism. Based on the admission interview and the school's recommendation, students are placed in a specific stream.
GIS doesn't just teach English as knowledge; it's treated as a natural skill that can be developed, much like other basic survival skills. They provide courses like IT, drama, dancing, music, visual arts, and more. They have an open-door policy and offer leisure and sports venues to families as part of the community.
The Garden International School ensures resident students a positive learning and living environment. They have boarding staff, well-equipped facilities, a healthy schedule, and after-school assignments. Their cafeteria serves freshly prepared balanced meals, and children are encouraged to try different foods. If a child becomes unwell, their nurse will care for them and contact parents if needed.
