The King’s Avatar
The King’s Avatar is a Chinese donghua based on a popular web novel of the same name by Butterfly Blue. It tells the story of Ye Xiu, a professional player of Glory, a fictional online multiplayer game. Ye Xiu is widely regarded as one of the best players in the game, but he is forced to retire from his team and leave the competitive scene. He then becomes a manager of an internet cafe and starts a new journey in Glory with a new account and a new team.
The donghua follows Ye Xiu’s adventures and challenges as he tries to reclaim his glory and prove himself as the true king of the game. Along the way, he meets various friends and foes, some of whom are his former teammates or rivals. The donghua showcases the thrilling and strategic aspects of Glory, as well as the humor and drama of the characters’ interactions.
The King’s Avatar is a donghua that appeals to fans of gaming, esports, and action genres. It has two seasons so far, with a third season announced for 2022. It also has a prequel movie and an OVA series that expand on the backstory and lore of the donghua.
