The Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones began as a blues cover band, but their talent, marketing, and sheer determination propelled them to become one of the most influential rock bands of all time. Aside from their distinctive physical appearance, they were known for fusing rock and blues to create their signature sound. When it came to lyrics, they were never afraid to be daring.
With their punk outlook, the popularity of their rebellious lyrics among college students quickly soared. They did not limit themselves to just rock and blues, but also experimented with country, dance, and folk music. What's more, they're still very much a functioning rock 'n' roll unit that goes on tours and performs concerts.
