The Treasure Chamber of the Principality of Liechtenstein

The Treasure Chamber of the Principality of Liechtenstein (Schatzkammer Liechtenstein) is a must-see site in Vaduz, focusing on the country's rich royal legacy. The things on exhibit are made up of artworks and other treasures from the Princely Family's 400-year-old private collection, as well as donations from noteworthy private collectors like Adulf Goop, whose collection of rare bejeweled Easter eggs includes work by the famed Karl Fabergé.

Many valuable Russian Easter eggs are on display in the Treasure Chamber of the Principality of Liechtenstein, including the world-famous Fabergé Apple Blossom Egg, as well as other Fabergé Easter eggs and goldsmith masterpieces. Visitors will also be able to observe lunar rocks recovered by Apollo 11 and Apollo 17 astronauts, as well as learn about their journey from the Moon to the Principality of Liechtenstein.

Other highlights include a variety of outstanding artworks, notably Johann Ludwig Bleuler's "Rhine Journey" series. There's also a sizable collection of antique weapons on display, as well as numerous other objects having links to European monarchy over the years. There's also an unusual collection of moon pebbles on display, which were presented to the country in honor of its manufacturing base's contribution to NASA's mission. During peak seasons, this popular new attraction might get crowded, so go early in the day if you can. It's a good idea to visit during the shoulder seasons for even better results.
