Frant Gwo is the director of the 2019 Chinese science fiction movie The Wandering Earth. Qu Chuxiao, Li Guangjie, Ng Man-tat, and Zhao Jinmai star in the Liu Cixin novel that served as the basis for the movie. It can be seen as one of the Best Chinese Science Fiction Movies.


The plot takes place in a future in which the Earth is in danger of being destroyed by the declining sun. The governments of the world join together to construct enormous thrusters that will propel Earth out of the solar system and into a new one in order to save civilization. But when the Earth sets out on its voyage, it runs across a multitude of barriers and difficulties that pose a threat to the mission's success and the existence of civilization.


To bring the plot to life, the movie uses outstanding visual effects, including large set pieces and sophisticated CGI. The film explores themes of sacrifice, tenacity, and the strength of human invention and teamwork.
