Tianjin Eye
Tianjin Eye is a 120-meter (394 ft)-tall giant Ferris wheel built above the Yongle Bridge (formerly Chihai Bridge), over the Hai River in Tianjin, China. Tianjin Eye, also called "The Tientsin Eye" is electrically powered and has 48 passenger capsules, each able to carry 8 passengers, and takes 30 minutes to complete a rotation, giving a maximum capacity of 768 passengers per hour.
Completed in 2008, this observation wheel is noteworthy for its unique placement: It's directly above a river and straddling a commuter bridge, creating a pretty awesome bridge accent. Its highest point is 400 feet above the river Hai with cars on the Yongle Bridge rushing by underneath riders in one of 50 passenger compartments. It’s fun to watch the boats chug underneath as you make the 30-minute trip around, but it can be equally as stunning to view the wheel from the boat.
